Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RankCause ("the Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you ("User," "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the Service.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and RankCause regarding your use of the Service.

2. Accounts & Registration

Account Creation

To use the Service, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

We recommend using a strong, unique password. We are not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to protect your credentials.

One Account Per User

Each account is for a single user or organization. You may not share your login credentials with others. Team access features (multiple seats) are available on Growth, Pro, and Enterprise plans.

3. The Service

Description

RankCause provides tools for website SEO monitoring, including but not limited to: website crawling and technical SEO analysis, keyword ranking tracking, page change monitoring, AI/GEO visibility tracking, competitor analysis, and reporting.

Service Availability

We work to keep RankCause available and reliable, but we are a small team and do not currently offer a formal uptime service-level agreement (SLA), uptime credits, or a guaranteed support-response time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance where practical. Unplanned outages will be communicated via our status page.

Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not discontinue core features without at least 30 days notice to paid subscribers.

Plan Limits

Each subscription plan has defined limits (domains, pages per crawl, reports, etc.). These limits are described on the Pricing page and in your account settings. We reserve the right to enforce these limits technically.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Pricing

Subscription prices are listed on our Pricing page. All prices are in US dollars unless otherwise stated. Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes.

Payment Methods

Depending on how your account is configured, you may pay by one or more of the following methods:

• Manual payment (bank transfer / PayPal), admin-verified — our default payment method today. You send payment outside the app, submit a reference for it, and we manually confirm receipt before activating or extending your plan. Manual payments do not renew automatically — we send a reminder before your plan's next payment is due, and you (or we) must act on it.
• Card payment via Stripe — where enabled, this bills automatically on a recurring schedule until cancelled.
• Cryptocurrency via Coinbase Commerce — a one-time charge for the billing period you select; it does not renew automatically.

Subscriptions are priced monthly or annually in advance. Your billing date is the date you first subscribed to a paid plan.

Automatic Renewal

Only Stripe card subscriptions renew automatically; you can cancel those at any time via the billing portal in your account settings. Manual (bank transfer / PayPal) and crypto payments do not auto-renew — you pay again for each new period, and we will remind you before the due date.

Refunds

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for new paid subscriptions. If you are unsatisfied within 7 days of your first paid charge, contact us for a full refund. After 7 days, all charges are non-refundable. Upgrades and downgrades on Stripe subscriptions are prorated — you will receive credit or be charged the difference for the remainder of your billing cycle.

Failed / Missed Payments

For Stripe subscriptions, if a payment fails we will attempt to retry the charge and email you about it. For manually-paid accounts, if a payment is not received and verified by its due date, your account may be downgraded to a free/suspended state until payment is confirmed.

Taxes

You are responsible for any applicable taxes. Where required by law, we will collect and remit taxes on your behalf.

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing period — they will take effect at your next renewal.

5. Free Trial

New users receive a 3-day (72-hour) free trial with access to the SEO dashboards, crawling, and Google Search Console / Analytics connections. AI content briefs, AI change explanations, GEO / AI-visibility tracking, and the internal linker are not included in the trial and unlock only upon upgrading to a paid plan. No credit card is required to start a trial.

After the trial period:

• If you have not subscribed, your account access will be limited to viewing existing data
• No data is automatically deleted — your data is retained for 30 days after trial expiry
• You can subscribe at any time to regain full access

One free trial per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent this limit is a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination.

6. Acceptable Use

Permitted Uses

You may use RankCause to monitor and analyze websites that you own, have explicit permission to analyze, or that are publicly accessible for the purpose of legitimate SEO research and competitive analysis.

Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service to crawl websites in a manner that violates their robots.txt or terms of service, or causes excessive server load
• Use the Service to harvest personal data from third-party websites
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
• Resell, sublicense, or distribute access to the Service without written permission
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Transmit malware, viruses, or any code intended to disrupt or damage our systems
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Abuse the API or automated access mechanisms in ways that degrade service for other users
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits or free trial restrictions

Crawling Responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that websites you add to RankCause for crawling are ones you have the right to crawl. We are not liable for any claims arising from your crawling of third-party websites.

7. Intellectual Property

Our Property

The Service, including its software, design, algorithms, and content, is owned by RankCause and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in the Service beyond the limited right to use it as described herein.

Feedback

If you submit suggestions, feature requests, or feedback about the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use that feedback in any way without compensation to you.

Our Brand

You may not use our name, logo, or trademarks without prior written consent, except to accurately describe your use of the Service (e.g., "Powered by RankCause").

8. Your Data & Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data you input into the Service, including domain configurations, custom alerts, and any content you create. We do not claim ownership of your data.

License to Us

By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and analyze your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not use your data to provide services to other customers or for any purpose beyond your service delivery.

Crawled Website Content

To provide the Service, RankCause fetches and stores technical data and content snapshots (including page text, headings, metadata, and structured data) from the domains you configure for crawling. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to have that content crawled and stored — see Acceptable Use. On paid plans with AI-powered features enabled (content briefs, AI change explanations, AI-suggested fixes, and GEO / AI-citation tracking), relevant snapshot content or tracked keyword queries may be sent to the third-party AI providers described in Third-Party Services and in our Privacy Policy in order to generate that feature's output.

Data Export

You can export your data in CSV or JSON format at any time from the Reports section. We support data portability.

Data Upon Termination

Upon account termination, you have 30 days to export your data. When you request account deletion, we immediately scrub identifying information from your account and deactivate it; remaining records are targeted for removal within the following 30 days, except where retention is required by law. 9. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with a number of third-party services. Depending on your plan and which features and integrations you use, these can include:

• Google Search Console & Google Analytics 4 — connected per domain via your own Google account (OAuth), to pull ranking and traffic data
• Stripe — card payment processing and recurring subscription billing (where enabled)
• Coinbase Commerce — cryptocurrency payment processing (where enabled)
• Anthropic (Claude) — the AI model that powers content briefs, AI change explanations, and AI-suggested technical fixes on paid plans with those features enabled
• OpenAI, Perplexity, and Google Gemini — queried with your tracked keywords, on paid plans with GEO / AI-visibility tracking enabled, to check whether and how your brand is mentioned in AI-generated answers
• Ahrefs and Semrush — connected only if you link your own Ahrefs/Semrush account, to pull backlink and competitor data into RankCause
• DataForSEO and SerpApi — used, where enabled, to fetch search-results and rank-tracking data for your tracked keywords

Your use of these integrations is subject to those companies' respective terms and privacy policies. See our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement for more detail on what each integration is used for and what data it receives.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services. Loss of access to third-party services (e.g., Google revoking API access) does not entitle you to a refund.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Guarantees that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or secure
• Guarantees about the accuracy of SEO data, ranking information, or analytics
• Guarantees that using the Service will improve your search rankings

SEO data (rankings, traffic, crawl results) is provided for informational purposes only. Search engine rankings are determined by search engines outside our control and are subject to constant change. We are not responsible for any business decisions you make based on data provided by the Service.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SEO INTELLIGENCE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, revenue, data, business, or goodwill
• Damages arising from your reliance on the Service's data or recommendations
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Any matter beyond our reasonable control

IN NO EVENT WILL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100 USD.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

12. Termination

Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by requesting deletion (see Your Rights in the Privacy Policy for how). Termination takes effect immediately. Paid subscriptions are not refunded upon early termination except as described in the Refunds section.

Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms, especially the Acceptable Use section
• Fail to pay amounts owed after the grace period
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity using the Service

For serious violations, termination may be immediate without notice. For other violations, we will typically provide a warning and opportunity to remedy the issue before terminating.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability) will survive.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
• Sending an email notification to all registered users at least 14 days before changes take effect
• Displaying an in-app banner notifying you of the changes

If you disagree with the updated Terms, you may terminate your account before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which RankCause operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute Resolution

We prefer to resolve disputes informally. Before initiating any formal proceedings, please contact us at legal@seointelligence.app and give us 30 days to resolve the issue.

If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except where prohibited by law or for claims that qualify for small claims court.

Class Action Waiver

You agree that any dispute resolution will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
